He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Claussen and Hulda Claussen (Weimuth); his wife Ellen; and his brothers, Jim and Roy.

He is survived by: his children, Dennis Ray Claussen (Linda), Matthew Claussen, Jeffrey Claussen (Nada) and Sandra Michelle Grynovich (Nick). He is also survived by Nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
