He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Saims and Virginia Saims; his brother Bernard Saims; and his nephew Phillip Saims. He is survived by: his wife Ida Saims; his sons, Peter Saims (Stephanie) and Steven Saims (Jami); his grandchildren, Rocco and Aria Saims; his siblings-in-law, Terri Hurst (Charlie), Margie Geittmann (Peter), Anita Lathrop (Jack), Sharon Saims and Rick Cortazar; and his nephews, Douglas Saims and Tom Kellerman. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
