He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Govert and Sylvia Govert. He is survived by: his wife Beckie Govert of Hobart, IN; his children, Gayle O'Connor of Valparaiso, IN, Scot Govert (Cheryl) of Livermore, CA, Dana Hamady (Mark) of Chesterton, IN and Jeff Govert (Anne) of Alexandria, VA; his siblings, Elaine Ryan (Mike) and Alan Govert (Janet) of Hobart, IN; his sisters-in-law, Joyce Govert of Philadelphia, PA and Marina Govert of Chapel Hill, NC; and his grandchildren, Katie (Joe), Corie, Emily, Madeline (Nick), David, Lauren and Nathan.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (600 W Old Ridge Rd, Hobart, IN 46342). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Nativity of Our Savior (2949 Willowcreek Rd, Portage, IN 46368).
