He is survived by: his children, Johnie Sawyer (Jackie) of Valparaiso and Paula (Gerald); his grandchildren, Michael Sawyer (Jillian) of Joliet and Deanna Johnson (Richard) of Portage; his great grandchildren, Eli, Monty and Myah Sawyer; and his sister Lela-Bell Stafford of Trenton, Tennessee.
