Joan F. Kray Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 6, 2024, at the age of 92, Joan F. Kray of Hobart, Indiana, born in Gary, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Szczepaniak and Sophie Szczepaniak; her husband Edward Kray; her brother Norbert; her siblings-in-law, Gerri Stevens and Joseph "Butch" Kolczak; and her grandson-in-law Chris Hiatt.
She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Ehrenfeld (Richard), Sharon Streit (Larry) and Kristin Githens (Doug); her grandson Tim Streit (Holly); her great grandchildren, Alyssa and Logan; her granddaughter Kara Hiatt; her great grandchildren, Drew and Grace; her grandchildren, Lauren Ehrenfeld (Victor Nespar), Richard Ehrenfeld, John Ehrenfeld (Jenn McPherson) and Andrew Githens (Kristen); her great grandchild Rhodes; her granddaughter Haley Githens; and her sisters, Betty Helding (Joel) and Barbara Kolczak.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (600 W Old Ridge Rd, Hobart, IN 46342). A prayer was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Bridget Catholic Church (107 Main St, Hobart, IN 46342).
