He was predeceased by: his father Thomas Fargo. He is survived by: his mother Grace Fargo; and his siblings, David Fargo (Nancy), Thomas Fargo (Mary), Joan Dammarell (Doug), Nancy Katen (Bill) and Patricia Bass. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in James's name to Humane Society of Hobart Inc.
