He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisco Abila and Ramona Abila; his wife Consuelo "Connie" Abila; his sons, Francisco, Manuel and Frank Abila; his grandson Stephen Husek; and his siblings, Antonio, Paul Abila, Lucy Ward and Isabelle Solis.
He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah Husek (David) of Hobart, Lisa Crizer (Kurt) of LaPorte and Laurie Edmond (Jeffery) of Valparaiso; his grandchildren, David Frank Husek II, Joseph Husek, Stephanie Husek, Erin Crofton, Caleb Crizer, Jessica Caldwell, Joshua Edmond, Lauren Edmond, Natalie Abila, Ashley Abila, Rachel Abila and Allison Abila; his great grandchildren, Zoe Crofton, Ciera Crofton, Vivian Crizer, Mia Caldwell, Jacob Caldwell and Michael Caldwell; his daughter-in-law Michelle Abila; his sisters, LoLa Alvarado and Linda Rice (Norman); and his siblings-in-law, Eva, Shirley Abila and Eugene Ward.
In lieu of flowers donation's in Charlie's memory may be made to Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church.
