She was predeceased by: her parents, Philip Everett and Ruth Werno; her husband James G. Benson; her children, Tracey Lynn Benson and Martin Lawrence Benson; and her siblings, Delores Jones, Paulette Reeder and Phillip Everett Werno of Portage, IN..
She is survived by: her children, Scott Benson (Jill Wagner) of Nashville, IN, James G. Benson, Jr. (Teresa Fisher) of Hobart, IN, Pamela Giertz (Richard) of The Villages, FL, Glenn Benson (Julia) of Norwalk, CT and Heather Benson (Mike Varella) of Hobart, IN; and her brother Arlie Werno. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 9 great -grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
