It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley Margaret Galecke of Highland, Indiana, who passed away on December 25, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Joy and Ella Joy (Gorin); her husband Joseph Galecke; and her brother James "Jim" Joy. She is survived by: her daughter Joann Voss (Kent Stotler) of Valparaiso, IN; her grandchildren, Charles Duerr (Christy), Alexandra Voss (Matt Nadolski) and Nicholas Voss (Haley Newbury); her great grandchildren, Caden, Chayse, Liam and Ellie; and her sister Theresa Smith of Memphis, TN. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. James the Less Catholic Church (9640 Kennedy Ave, Highland, IN 46322). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
