He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his children, Kristen Hillegonds (Carl), Valerie Feizy (Cameron), Jon Kooistra (Sabrina), Sam Kooistra III (Becky) and Ken Kooistra (Sara); his grandchildren, Trevor Hillegonds (Emily), Kyle, Jason, Michael Yadron (Nicki), Samantha, Logan, Nolen, Van, Evie, Lyla, Julia DeBoer (Justin), Sam IV, Lukas, Ella, Regan and Nora; his great grandchildren, Naomi, Theo, Jameson and Travis; and his siblings, Mike, Mark Kooistra, Delores Eenigenberg and Dawn Stombaugh. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and dear friends.
