She was predeceased by: her parents, Elizabeth Chalko and Alexander Chalko; her husband Al J. Swiercz; her brothers, Alex Chalko (Jean) and Ed Chalko; her siblings-in-law, Joseph Heintz and Joanne Chalko; and her grandson Milan D. Tesanovich Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Karen Tesanovich (Milan) of Carmel, Lynda Burgeson (Gary) of Highland, Gregory Swiercz (Kathy) of Mishawaka and Debra Matusz of Dyer; her siblings, Gerald Chalko of Highland and Geraldine Heintz of Schererville; and her sister-in-law Mary Chalko of Gary. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a group she donated generously to over the years.
