He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Raymond and Dorothy Gilstrap (Axsom); and his siblings, Ray Gilstrap, Robert D. Gilstrap, Nellie Allen, Virginia Durr, Helen Sovern and Jean Horner.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Gayle Gilstrap of Heltonville; his children, Edward Eugene "Gene" Gilstrap (Dalene) of Bedford, Lee Anne East (Perry Thomas), Susan Nead (Patrick) of Bloomington and Dorothy "Dot" Stout of Bedford; and his grandsons, Tommy East (Darlene), Stephen East (Holly), Nathan Qualkenbush (Ashley), Neal Qualkenbush (Jessie), Isiah Killion and Elijah Killion. He is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters.
