It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Surman of Hebron, Indiana, born in Gary, Indiana, who passed away on May 25, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Helen Surman to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry George and Eugenia George; her husband Robert “Bob” Surman; her children, Linda Knopic and Robert II; and her siblings, Jim, Gust, Mary, Mable and Sylvia (Leroy).

She is survived by: her children, Virginia Alvarez and Ricky Surman; her goddaughter Kathy Lemon Schlosser (Gordon); her son-in-law Dennis Knopic; her grandchildren, Robert Alvarez, II (Dawn), Stephanie and Margret Knopic; and her great grandchildren, Jessica Alvarez, Dustin Williams and Gabriel Knopic. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
