With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Thomas E. Schmitt of Haubstadt, Indiana, who passed away on February 4, 2022 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schmitt and Geneva Schmitt (Ziliak); and his brothers, Paul Schmitt, Kenneth Schmitt and Marvin Schmitt.
He is survived by: his wife Tanya Schmitt (Freeman) of Haubstadt, IN; his children, Julie Clester (Pat) of Frederick, MD, Darrin Schmitt (Beth) of Haubstadt, IN, Mark Schmitt (Amy) of Charlestown, WV and Kim Schmitt (John) of Austin, TX; his grandchildren, Jeremiah Clester (Jordan), Megan Abshagan (Tyler), Kaitlyn Schmitt, Landon Schmitt (Haley), Joseph Schmitt and William Schmitt; his great grandchildren, Lucy, Mack Abshagan and Harper Clester; his pet Maggie; and his siblings, Rose Vincent, Mary Winiger and Edward.
