He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank A. Spindler and Rosalia K. Spindler (Pohl); and his siblings, Ferdinand, Leonard, Edward, Raymond, Albert Spindler, Loretta Schmitt and Pauline Spindler.
He is survived by: his parent-in-law Wandalee Spindler (Henze); his wife Wandalee; his daughters, Catherine Spindler of Evansville, Cynthia Adler (Jeffrey) and Brenda Marx (Gerald) of Haubstadt; his grandchildren, Phillip Marx (Marsha) of Haubstadt, Matthew Marx (Courtney) of Haubstadt, Andrew Marx (Jaclyn) of Haubstadt, Joshua Marx (Madelyn) of Haubstadt, Jacob Adler (Emily) of Owensboro, KY, Laura Thomas (John) and Michael Adler (Liz) of Evansville; his brother Leo Spindler of Owensville; and his siblings-in-law, Ray Henze, Aline Henze and Bernice Thompson Riddle. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be given to St. James Catholic Church of Haubstadt.
