He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Ricketts and Ethel Ricketts (Tolen); his daughter Carla Diane Hodges; and his siblings, Ronald Ricketts and Mary Schuder.

He is survived by: his sons, Gordon D. Ricketts of Columbus, Mark Ricketts of Hope and Christopher A. Ricketts of Hope. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
