She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Bortz and Lela Catherine Wilkerson (Gooding); her husband Orville Galyen; and her daughters, Marilynn June Galyen and Sharolyn Brooks.
She is survived by: her daughter Karen Klein (Richard) of Alexandria, Virginia; and her siblings, Bonnie Meek and Marvin Wilkerson. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and her five great grandchildren.
