He was predeceased by: his parents, Jettie Olmstead and Freeda Stater Olmstead; and his siblings, Edna Wood, Marshall Olmstead and Floyd "Bud" Olmstead.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Jones; his children, Brenda Olmstead of Columbus and Dennis Olmstead of Greenfield; his grandson Jason Williams of Bloomington; and his siblings, Minnie Stitt of Columbus and Glen Olmstead of Hope.
