He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Johnson and Sharon E. Johnson (Coons); his great grandchild Myra Grace Green; his brother Bradley Johnson; and his stepfather Robert Patterson.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy "Dot" Mae Johnson (Stanton) of Hartford City; his son Rodney E. Johnson Jr. (Renae) of Hartford City; his grandchildren, Ciera Green (Brad), Bryce Dyer and Gavin Dyer (Ellie James); and his great grandchildren, Isaac Green, Eli Green and Owen Green. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
