He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde A. Martin and Ola Martin (Whitacker); his wife Joyce C. Martin; his daughter Ava Gail Hare; and his brothers, Arlo E. Martin and Clyde Hershel Martin.
He is survived by: his children, Joy Lee Braner (Ervin) of Winchester, Bruce A. Martin (Sheryl) of Warsaw and Lori J. McCoin (Tony) of Montpelier; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Cheney, James Cheney Jr., Josette Byal, Zachery Cheney, Melinda Townsend, Caleb Hare, Corey Martin, Christina Miller of Kelly Jennings, T. J, Adrian Maddox and Mitchell McCoin. He is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
