He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Gail Dorton and Fredith Lovelle Dorton (Snyder). He is survived by: his wife Kristina "Kris" Dorton (Townsend) of Hartford City; his children, Deanna L. Rinker (Jeff) of Hartford City, Scot D. Smith (Donna) of Indianapolis, Rick D. Dorton (Resa) of Florence, SC and Major Matthew G. Dorton (Amy); and his grandchildren, J. W. Rinker (Kati), Kurtis Rinker (Kasey), Dillon Rinker (Bailey), Patty Dorton (Alonzo King Jr.), Deborah Dorton (Aaron Jennings), Natosha Smith (Mike Palmer), Michael Dorton (Julia), Kellie Smart (Justin) and Andrew Gail Dorton. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
