He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold "Hap" L. Bergdoll and Martha Genetta Bergdoll-Spahr (Mahon); his brothers, James "Jim" Richard Bergdoll and Ronald E. Bergdoll; and his stepson John Shelton.
He is survived by: his sister Phyllis L. Smith of Bluffton; his grandchildren, Serend R. McFarren (Nicholas) and Sydney M. Thornburgh; his great grandchildren, Greyson McFarren and Nadia McFarren; and his stepchildren, Michael Shelton of Florida, Chris and Michelle Shelton of Hartford City. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
