He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert W. O'Connell and Rose C. O'Connell (Crall); and his niece Hope-Ann O'Connell. He is survived by: his siblings, Gary O'Connell (Becky), Patricia Nasser (Tony) of The Villages, FL, Rose Marie Monfort of Cookeville, TN and Robert O'Connell of Hartford City; his sister-in-law Toni Henderson Randolph of Hartford City; and his nieces and nephews, Alanna Bucknell, John O'Connell, Heather O'Connell (Greg Overla), Cathleen Myer, Tony Nasser (Janie), Jennifer Spees (Tom), Tori Rose Sills, Allison Sills, Jered O'Connell, Jayden O'Connell, Tara-Jean Turner, Jaleigh O'Connell, Kara McDonald, Shay McCaffery, Austin McDonald and Brennon Wilson.
