He was predeceased by: his wife Lela Stanton (Ramsey); his parents, Shelly Stanton and Lizzie Stanton (Burton); his siblings, Jewell Gentry, Ruben Stanton, Beulah Evans, Mildred Luttrell, Alma Stanton, Thomas Stanton, Alvin Stanton, Hollan Stanton, Rollan Stanton, Ores Stanton, Leona Rexroat and Lola Kelly; and his children-in-law, Sandy Stanton and Rodney Johnson Sr..
He is survived by: his children, Teresa L. Eccles of Bluffton, IN, Donald G. Stanton of Gas City, IN and Dorothy M. Johnson of Hartford City, IN; and his grandchildren, Ryan Eccles (Stephanie Bates) of Ossian, IN, Casey J. Cason of Gas City, IN and Samuel Stanton (Kayla) of Panama City, FL. He is also survived by 7 Great Grandchildren.
