He was predeceased by: his parents, Gretchen T. Murphy and Ernest N. Murphy Sr.; and his siblings, Elizabeth Ann Harper and Ernest N. "Pee Wee" Murphy Jr.. He is survived by: his son Thomas Ashley Murphy (Jasmien); his siblings, Cecil Murphy (Pat) and Carol Chandler (Roy); and his grandchildren, Caliyah Gabrielle Murphy and Thomas Eli Murphy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pinelawn Memorial Park (4488 W Vernon Ave, Kinston, NC 28504).
