He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake Gustin and Dolores Gustin; and his daughter Connie Gustin. He is survived by: his wife Norma Gustin (Roth); his children, Beverly Giebler (Eric), Ricky Gustin (Miriam), Mary Beth McClish (Kevin) and Diana Thompson (Tim); his sister Ione Gorrell (Glen); and his brother-in-law Paul Dietz.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Harlan Church of Christ or the Harlan Christian School.
