She was predeceased by: her father Thurman Elmer Handlon; her sons, David Wayne Thompson and James "Jimmy" Arthur Thompson; her brothers, Thomas Handlon and Ronald Lee Handlon; and her close friend Britt Vires.
She is survived by: her mother Evelyn L. Adams Handlon of Hanover, Indiana; her husband James Arthur Thompson; her children, Kent D. Thompson of Greenwood, Indiana and Tina Thompson of Nashville, Indiana; her grandchildren, David, Alex, Kyle, Kayla, Joshua and Tyler; her great grandchild Harper Thompson; and her aunts and uncles, Melvin Adams, Clifford Adams, Virginia Adams and Betty Adams. She is also survived by numerous cousins and other relatives.
