He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Lee Young and Eula Mae Burton Young; his stepparents, Larry Smith and Judy Smith; his brother Donald Allen Young; and his grandparents, Thomas Young, Naomi Hunter Young, Selby Burton and Lena Rowlett Burton.
He is survived by: his son Joshua Levi Higgins (April) of Madison; his grandchildren, Kaedon, Landon and Jaxon; his siblings, Debi Gaylord of Madison, Connie Lukasik (Michael) of Hanover, Barbara Lee (Jim) of Knoxville, Jackie Young of Springfield, Jason Young (Amber) of Madison and Stuart Brian Young (Suzanne) of Martinsville; and his stepmother Joan Smith. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
