It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria Romero of Hammond, Indiana, who passed away on January 17, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Modesto C. Romero; her parents, Carmen Jurado and Francisco Gonzalez; her siblings, Carmen, Paula, Francisco, Cisto, Antonio, Ramon, Manuel and Geraldo; and her nephews, Jose Manuel and Johnny Irizarry.
She is survived by: her children, Maria Rodriguez (Felix), Ramona Rivera, Sally Vazquez (late Raul) and Victor Calderin (Millie); her grandchildren, Margaret Cantu (Scott), Michael Rivera (Margarita), Sherisse Rodriguez (Edgar), Marissa Rivera, Felix Rodriguez (Melinda) and Elizabeth Galarza (Joel); her great grandchildren, Vanessa, Isacc, Ariana, Elijah, Jisela, Cassandra, Elexis, Christian, Mykael, Emiliano, Max, Felix, Joel and Angel; her great great grandchild Julius; her brother Juan Gonzalez (Ivelia); and her nephew Henry Irizarry (Mirna).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Maria's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
