He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia A. Wetzel; and his parents, Ernest Wetzel and Maymie Wetzel. He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Kwiatkowski (David) of Schererville, Cindy Sullivan (Bobby) of Morocco, Stephen Wetzel (Rosemarie) of Crown Point and Lewis J. Wetzel II (Linda) of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, Brian Kwiatkowski, Nicole Wilbanks (Kyle), Beth Menk (Dalys), Melissa Fausnaught (Joshua), Amanda Lock (Jesse), Ryne Sullivan, Shyla Thomas, Lewis J. Wetzel III and Linda Wetzel; and his sister Vera Sigley. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
