She was predeceased by: her husband Leslie Ruhlander; and her stepdaughter Donna Vreden. She is survived by: her daughter Bonny Knish; her stepdaughter Edith Lapa; her sister Ann Chorba; her grandchildren, Melissa Dapshis (Todd), Kristofer Knish, Adam Knish, Brenda Green and Conrad Lapa (Lynn); her great grandchild Karly Jevert; and her caregiver Rylie Jevert. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Burns Kish Funeral Homes & Cremations - Munster (8415 Calumet Ave, Munster, IN 46321). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help church and the Alter and Rosary Society in Hammond, IN. until the pandemic, and then she would go to "church TV" at home.
