He was predeceased by: his father Albert James Jefferson; his grandparents, Cozetta Jefferson, Fred Jefferson, Mattie Lee Evans and Levy Evans; his uncles, Leroy Evans and Willie Nickelberry (Theola Nickelberry); his aunt Shirley Gaston (James Gaston); his great-aunt Eunice Spann (Eugene Spann); and his uncle James Jefferson of Pelahatchie, MS.

He is survived by: his mother Eva Mae Jefferson-Richardson (Jerry Richardson); his aunts and uncles, Theola Nickelberry of Brandon, MS, Leon Evans, Johnny Jefferson, Freddie Jefferson and Emmer Jean Hoard; and his cousin Jerome McLaurin (Selena McLaurin). He is also survived by niece, who he loved as his own daughter, and to a host of other nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
