He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy; his children, Julie Long and Jerry Hughes; and his brothers, Shelby and Billy Pirtle.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Pirtle (Jaime), Charles Pirtle Jr. (Charlene), Mike Hughes and Karen Redkey (Ron); and his sister Marta Drummond. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
