We are sad to announce that on January 11, 2025, at the age of 87, Carol Shropshire (Hammond, Indiana) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the vast expanse of eternity, Carol shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Carol farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

She was predeceased by: her husband William E. Shropshire; and her sister Betty M. Payonk. She is survived by: her children, William Shropshire (Peggy), Brian Shropshire (Mary) and Denise Cummings. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Burns Kish Funeral Homes & Cremations - Munster (8415 Calumet Ave, Munster, IN 46321). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the same location.

“I'm sorry to hear about your mother. We worked together at First Presbyterian. We also stayed with your family for six weeks while we were waiting to get into our house. Who would do such a nice thing except your mother! I won't be able to attend the funeral, but please except my sympathy. Jane Ewing Krueger”
