She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Fred Diekroeger and Mildred Diekroeger (Smith); her children, Sally Stohler, Barb Reed and Bruce Cain; her grandchildren, Amanda Burket (Jeremy), Ryan Adams (Sharon), Andy Reed (Kristin), Matt Reed, Natalie Cain, Courtney Cain and Mallory Cain; her great grandchildren, Mason, Avery Burket and Hayes Reed; her daughter-in-law Mary Cain; and her sister Sally Buder. She was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to the Hagerstown Congregational Christian Church, Hagerstown Library or Reid Health Foundation.
