It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas J. Sowinski (Griffith, Indiana), who passed away on February 28, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sowinski and Alma Sowinski. He is survived by: his wife Barbara (Babusch); his children, Jolene Kratochvil, Jennifer Sowinski, Ted Sowinski, Tim Sowinski, Janet Holsclaw (Ron), Julie Downing (Pat), Jackie Hamlett (Denis) and Tony Sowinski (Sonora); his grandchildren, Amber Kratochvil, Brittini Kratochvil (Logan), Natalie Sowinski, Ava O'Keefe, Chandler Sowinski (Mysti), Blake Holsclaw, Barbara Holsclaw, Mylon Shamble, Patrick Downing (Jordan), Sidney Hamlett, Anderson Hamlett and Carter Sowinski; his great grandchildren, Willa Bellinda and Miles Downing; and his siblings, Penny Tomick (late Don) and John Sowinski (Angie).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the White Funeral Home (921 W 45th Ave, Gary, IN 46408). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the White Funeral Home (921 W Glen Park Ave, Griffith, IN 46319).
