She was predeceased by: her husband Ramiro; her daughter Rosalie Kusek-Chavez; and her sisters, Josephine Gonzalez and Susana Velasquez. She is survived by: her sons, Abelardo Fernando Chavez (Sylvia) and Louis H. Chavez; her grandchildren, Daniel C. Chavez, David E. Chavez, Angelica E. Chavez, Rosalie Chavez and Alex Suarez; and her sister Bertha Ortiz. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick Church (3802 Grand Blvd, East Chicago, IN 46312). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at the Holy Cross Cemetery (801 Michigan City Rd, Calumet City, IL 60409).
