It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mervyn G. Barenie of Griffith, Indiana, who passed away on December 24, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred T. Barenie and Ina Barenie; and his siblings, Alfred C. Barenie (Janet), Kenneth Barenie (Marge) and Luella Barenie.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Barenie (Jadrnak); and his children, Mervyn James Barenie (Linda), Carolyn Belcher (Lewis), Judy Barenie, John Barenie, Ellen Wolters (John), Mary Stratton (Robert), Mark Barenie (Angela), Julie Peterson (Don), Paul Barenie (Jennifer) and Anne Bukowski (late Tom). He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews.
