He is survived by: his wife Joyce Hathaway; his daughter Merri Hathaway; his nieces, Veronica Hall and Julie Karageorge; his nephew David Hathaway Jr.; his godson Larry J. Vargo; and his sister-in-law Janice Vargo.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Humane Indiana of Munster, or VNA Hospice of Valparaiso would be appreciated.
