He was predeceased by: his parents, Drexel Benjamin and Nellie Florence Adkins; his brother Larry Adkins; and his daughter Rebecca Adkins. He is survived by: his brothers, Joey Adkins and Chris Adkins; his children, Timothy Adkins II, Benjamin Adkins, Nathan Adkins, Andrew Adkins and Brittany Cosner-Brown; and his grandchildren, Lexus Hendley, Dayton Adkins, Isabella Adkins, Paige Adkins, Ava Adkins, CJ Brown, Leila Brown and Bentley Brown. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
