He is survived by: his wife Dena; his children, Dawn Carpenter (Pam), Bill Bird (Beth), Robert Ellis and Jennifer Minor (Matt); his grandchildren, Emily Capps (Aaron), Heather Wilbur (Amber), Gabiella Carpenter, Gage Carpenter, Whitley Campbell (Dusty), Adali Bird, Cord Minor, David Ellis, Maddie Stroh, Johnny (Lexi Bird), Natalie Leichty (James), James Gillespie (Stephanie) and Amanda Miller (Ryan); his great grandchildren, Camden Mathis, Remington Campbell, Raylee Campbell, Nova Ellis, Tyler Landis (CC), Victoria Bowman (Caleb), Aubrey Landis, Tanner Leichty, Nolan Leichty, Kurt Gillespie (Ashley), Dawsin Arborgast, Paige Lucas (Tyler) and Mya Gillespie; his great great grandchildren, Waylan Boman and Rayleigh Lucas; and his siblings, Mark Bird (Marge) and Jennifer Miller (Elvin). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home (222 N 10th St, Richmond, IN 47374). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
