He was predeceased by: his parents, Escoe Jones and Lucille Jones (Oates); and his siblings, David, Billy Gene, Betty and Freda Mae.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Jones (Young); his daughters, Rhonda Martin, Elizabeth Shinkle (Charles) and Susan Whittaker (Marvin); his grandchildren, Zachary Shinkle (Holly), Richard Shinkle, Emily Balg (Chris) and Piper Whittaker; and his great grandchildren, Cody Shinkle, Sarah Shinkle, Hayden Tatom and Mason Balg.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Richard's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
