He was predeceased by: his parents, James G. Hartley Sr. and Marjorie Hartley Marcec (Glover); his stepfather Andrew Marcec; and his siblings, Bill Hartley, Marjorie Henrion-Lewis, Mary Lou Bock, Sharon Hartley and Judy Hartley.
He is survived by: his wife Irene Midgett; his children, Vickie Hoover (Gary), Doug Hartley (Rebekah), Dennis Hartley (Angie) and Bill Hartley; his grandchildren, Garrett Hoover (Holly), Derek Hoover (Emily), Joel Hoover, Dustin Carstensen, Brandon Hartley (Stephanie), Amanda Hartley, Jessica Hartley-Shaffer (Nick), Jeff Hartley (Lynn) and Nick Hartley (Brittany); his sister Brenda Langer (Vernon); and his sister-in-law Nancy Hartley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
