He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldon E. Petty and Viola Petty (Mohler); and his siblings, Melvin Petty, Ferrel Petty, Walter Petty and Loretta Harvey.
He is survived by: his wife Juanita M Shrader; his son Phillip Petty (Starr); his grandsons, Nathan Petty (Jennie) and Neil Petty; his great grandchildren, Victoria, Gavin, Joslyn, Kaiden, Maeli, Ellie and Mary; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Bryan and Cara; and his brother Ferris Petty. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
