He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Hines and Eva Hines; his wife Barbara Hines; his children, Danny Hines and Samara Ellen Hines; his son-in-law Terry Johnson; and his granddaughter Lilly Helsey.
He is survived by: his children, Rick Hines (Cheryl) of South Carolina, Caryn Johnson of Elwood, Barbara Altom of Greenfield and Julie Newhouse of Greenfield; and his brother Rev. Jack Hines (Barbara) of Lynn. He is also survived by several grand children and great grandchildren.
