It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Harold Smoot of Greenfield, Indiana, born in Indianapolis, Indiana, who passed away on June 15, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Smoot and Lillian Smoot (Schafhauser); his significant other Nancy Smoot; his daughter Lila Young; his grandsons, Nick and Andrew; and his siblings, Raymond, James, Harry, John, Norma and Kathleen.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Taylor; his children, Mark Smoot (Jerri), Bill Smoot (Bev), Duane Smoot (Cheryl), Beth Turpin (Joe) and Jim Smoot (Denise); and his son-in-law Dave Young. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to either Greenfield Christian Church and/or the Alzheimer's Association, Indianapolis Chapter.
