He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Benton and Louise Ruth Cooper (Mills); and his siblings, Pat Goff, Sonny Cooper, Billy Cooper, Johnny Cooper and Norman Cooper.

He is survived by: his wife Diana Cooper of Greenfield; his daughters, Vanessa Brizendine (Mark) of Greenfield, Robin Zimmermann of Greenfield and Terri Cooper of Greenfield; his brother Tommy Cooper (Sandy) of Bowling Green; and his grandchildren, Heidi Brewer, Chris Brewer, Mitchell Cooper, Michelle Riley (Brewer), Mike Brewer, Adam Brizendine and Ashley Brizendine. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
