He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin F. Kerr and Lela B. Kerr (Wells); his wife Bessie O'Neal Kerr (Walden); and his siblings, Myrl Kerr, Earl Kerr, Kenneth Kerr, Jewel Graves, Alene Brewington, Geneva Graves, Ranese Geralds, Mary Jackson and Letha Ford.
He is survived by: his daughter Brenda A. Kerr of Indianapolis; his sister Ruth Anderson; and his great grandchildren, Bessie M. Kerr, William Hall Kerr, Jaxson Hooten, Gunner Hooten and Remy Hooten.
