He was predeceased by: his father R. J. Lair; his wife Linda Lair; his siblings, Wilmont Lair, Bernice Whitler, Junior Lair, John Lair, Ruby Bonke and Lorraine York; and his daughters, Jennifer Lair and Pamela Roberts.

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Steven Roberts (Jessica Roberts), Christina Dodd (Karmen Lewis) and Amber Roberts; his close friend Faye Silvers; and his sister Marteen Montgomery. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
