He was predeceased by: his parents, D. R. Crider and Edythe Ogg (Glover); his uncle Lawrence; his aunt Helen Crider; his sister Dorothy Smyth; and his brother-in-law Robert Smyth.

He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Suzi of California, Eadie of Michigan, Steven of Montana and Marc of Michigan.
